Where can I find a simple (affordable) dress ?!!

I've been on a desperate hunt for an easy, laid back, simple, bohemian style wedding dress that is under $500.  I just want something simple, but it seems that every "simple" dress I fall in love with is $1500+.  I feel like I have looked everywhere obvious and come up empty handed.  I'm also not into the knockoff factory idea.  Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.  I thought finding the dress was the easy part!!!

How simple we talking? Because if simple is what you're going for, consider buying a bridesmaids dress in white or ivory. David's Bridal's website has an entire section of simple, white dresses. I would suggest, if your budget is under 500, to go for a dress that isn't from a bridal salon.

I've got one for sale for $100

JCrew has a ton on sale right now and an additional 30% off. I also just bought one from WHBM for $200. There are plenty of choices, as listed above, if you get away from the bridal stores.

Have you tried small, local dress shops and bridal shops? Especially the ones in up and coming neighborhoods. I walked into a bridal shop in the middle of nowhere and th first thing the owner said was "All the dresses in the store are 50% off!" I ended up getting my dress for $544 after tax, which was 1/2 my budget. Plus thay had a lot of non-wedding dresses in white which were even more affordable. I a big fan of the "off the beaten path, no-name shops".

I got my gown (pic in my signature) at a sample sale for $99 so if you wear the sample sizes you can save a lot of money that way.  Ditto the suggestion to look at destination dresses.
