I was a Debutante in 2008 and the dress that I wore to the occassion was a dress purchased by my deceased grandmother for my older sister who instead took the unconventional route when getting married and the dress was passed down to me. My mother and I cut the train off the dress, redesigned the dress, and I wore it to the ball. The tradition is to wear the dress to your debutante ball, wear it to your wedding and pass it down to your daughter to wear for her ball and wedding. The thing is I really dont want to wear the dress to my wedding, exclusively. I plan on wearing the dress to my ceremony out of respect but I would really like something more my style and unique for my reception. Any thoughts?
