BM's dress

Hey ladies, I'm looking for some helpful tips here.

I'm going to start dress shopping starting in June for the BM dresses and I'd like to know what I should be considering when doing so.

So far all I can think of is:
BM Budget
Is it comfortable for BM
BM body type

What am I missing here, I feel like there is so much more I should be adding in to the mix, please help.

I'd say BM style.  Are you going by yourself to pick it out?  I don't think you'll be able to pick one out without at least a couple of BMs.

I went shopping first with my MOH and one of my BMs - it sounds bad but I picked her to come to represent the other 2 large chested ladies =] (both of whom were unavailable)

We went to 4 shops and they both tried on all the dresses we picked - with my BM there we were able to eliminate a lot of them that just were not going to work with a large bust.  Then when we had narrowed it down to a few that was when we had everyone come to choose - bringing 6 BMs to choose between an entire store of dresses would have been a disaster, but letting them choose between just a few was much easier.

I might suggest going with a collection of dresses.  We went with Amsale dresses - there were literally about 20 different combinations to choose from with respect to waist (empire or natural) and neckline style, but all of them were all the same color, material, and length.  Each girl picked out a dress that fit her best, and for each girl there really was one that clearly looked best on her - we never would have found one dress for everyone to wear because there simply isn't one amazing gown out there that's going to look good on a petite girl, a large chested girl, and a tall/broad shouldered girl (working with a lot of different body types here!).  A stock photo of what this looks like - cohesive, but the BMs aren't all clones of each other, which is a look I don't really care for:

    Good luck!

  • I should have mentioned that. I am bringing my sister and my FSIL.  I have 4 BMs total.  My sister has the same body type as one of the other BMs, petite frame.  Whereas my FSIL shares the same body type as the other BM, chesty with a little bit of hip.   So I figured having one of each body type would be a good starting point.

you may want to consider fabric type.  You don't have to know what you like/don't like going into it, but it was a large consideration for me.  :)   Good luck and have fun!!!
