I'm having a legal marriage separate from my ceremony/reception. The legal bit is important to me so I wanted to wear something sort-of weddingy, but not formal. I made a reproduction of this dress (same ivory color):

I plan to wear bright colored shoes with my floor length gown at the ceremony, but I feel like it's easier when they'll be mostly covered and just glimpses of color. With a knee-length dress, the shoes will be really obvious.
So... suggestions on color or style? Should I try to pull the color in elsewhere, like in a hairpiece?
