Your wedding isnt until July of next year, so I would hold off till maybe fall of this year.

You dont want to go too soon, but you want to have enough time for whatever you buy to come in, some can take 6-8 months, some not  so long. Mine took weeks.

I think giving yourself 6-12months for hunting before your wedding should be enough ;-)

I was looking for a dress at 2 years out when I had the money.  It took me a year to finally say "yes to the dress" only to figure out that it really wasn't what I wanted.  Now I have a "spare" dress that I don't want sitting in my closet that I'm trying to sell.  (It cost too much even at half off for me to give it to charity.)

You can start looking whenever you like (be prepared that if you're looking online then want to try a particular dress on - the stores will probably NOT carry that style) but when you do try them on and you find "the one" that you buy it then stop looking at dresses.
