Opinions needed please!!

As maid of honor I am helping my cousin pick out her wedding dress. She is paying for the wedding by herself, as she is not close to her parents. Therefore I would like to surprise her by paying for her wedding dress.
Should I give her cash in a card prior to leaving, or should I wait until she has found the dress she likes to pick up the bill?

I would love go gift you $x toward the price."

I love that you can offer to do this for your cousin! If your budget is limitless...let her choose and stay silent until she is at the register - or tell the consultant that is assisting! However, limited funds are important to keep in mind and you can let her know that you have x amount to contribute.

That's very nice of you. I definitely agree with Milkduds, be honest about what you can afford up front.
