Opinions welcome! Mori Lee dress 2415

Hello Ladies!
I have about a year before my wedding, but I started looking online at dresses.  I found this dress... Mori Lee Bridal Style: 2415...

http://ww.morilee.com/verLarge.php?archivo=Picture/2415/img0.jpg&archivo2=Picture/2415/img0large.jpg

Does anyone have any experience with mori Lee?

I think I LOVE it!  Has anyone ever ended up with they dress they fell in love with while searching through pictures?

Also, I'm "plus size"  And  my bust is a size F .  Do you think I could wear a dress like this?

Thanks ladies!

  • I think it's gorgeous, and it looks like a great shape for you. But I always caution ladies against falling in love with a picture before trying on a dress--you just never know. I actually never even tried on most of the gowns I loved online because not every store carries every dress.

Ok, that dress is GORGEOUS. I love it. I think the thing that will be hardest will be your bust. One of my best friends is an E cup, and is getting married in Jan, and she ended up getting a duchesse Satin- she felt the heavier material provided more support and also hid the necessary undergarments. But that was her- you may have a totally different experience. I DO love that dress. Can't wait to hear how it turns out for you. And nice sig pic. ;)

ETA- missed your other question, and ditto Opal- until you start trying dresses on, you won't really know what you'll love. But that's part of the fun. If you're worried about the plus sized aspect- try David's Bridal. I really like this dress, and it's a similar feel to the one you posted- there are plenty of others, and they carry plus sized samples in their stores, which is a huge help

  • Gorgeous, gorgeous dress! You could definitely wear it and think it would be quite a flattering dress.  Ditto to what Opalsky said - definitely try it on before deciding it's "the one" or getting your hopes too pinned on it.  Often times, what we loved online or in a magazine turned out to be not so great in real life. Conversely, dresses that may seem so-so in a magazine or even on a rack may really surprise you!

It is a beautiful dress!  But...when I was searching, there were many that were beautiful in photos, but were just horrendous on me.  Then, there were some gowns that looked so-so in photos that I really, really liked once I tried them on.  It's impossible to really know until you try it on.

Having said that, I really think that strapless gowns aren't the most flattering on a lot of women - regardless of bust size.  But that's both a matter of personal taste and deciding what looks (and feels) good on you when you actually try them on.

Good luck  - and have fun!

  • gorgeous dress!

like everyone else said, there may be many dresses you look at online that you will hate when you try it on - or you might not even be able to try it on because stores might not have a sample.

however, I did end up with a dress that I fell in love with online.
  • I have a Mori Lee dress and love it! I actually had my 'dream dress' picked out (also Mori Lee) but when I tried it on, it wasn't how I imagine. I fell in love with another I had printed off their site though...and now it's in my closet.

I think it would work for plus size but you need to ask the salon you are at. Mine went through the sizing chart with me.
  • This dress is gorgeous! I don't know how you feel about your bust, but this dress draws the attention up to the face and may draw more attention to your bust. If you don't mind that , then I think it would be great. One thing to remember is that you can always alter the dress to fit you if it is only minor infractions that bug you. IE being strapless, you can always add straps! I fell in love with my dress online and after trying it on, it was great! Hope it all works out for you!

  • My dress was Mori Lee #2401, but this dress was my second option. No one was carrying it at the time and I had to drive 2 1/2 hours to try on the one I fell in love with. So yes you can fall in love with a dress online.

But I also knew I wouldnt know for sure if it was for me until I tried it on. And what is your budget. This dress I know starts at around $1250.
Try on the dress if you can and then go from there. Good luck,a nd have fun.

  • Beautiful dress. I actually bought a very similar dress (in a 16 I think).  The Mori Lees that I tried on all seemed very generous in the bust area.  It does give an amazing waistline and felt very substantial with a molded bust area.  The thing I liked about this line is that is was very nice quality but the prices were not quite as high as some of the others.

I ended up panicking though because I have the opposite trouble and have very little bust to fill it out and there is all the gorgeous beading.  I found a second dress (yup I'm one of those) that was what I had been in love with online that fit like a glove a few months later. I will try and sell my Mori Lee in a month when it comes in.  You will only know once you try it on.  Good luck!

  • I LOVE this dress it reminds me of the crazy expensive Carolina Herrera dress Style No: 31778954.  Wear what you love you will know it  just make sure its not tight up top.
  • I actually also fell in love with this dress while looking online! Unfortunately when I tried it on it was not nearly as flattering as I had hoped. But this shouldn't discourage you because while you said you were busty I am definitely NOT. So you would just have to try it on to see if the shape is right.
The dress I ended up buying is also a Mori Lee and I was extremely happy with the fit on that one!
  • You have to try it on.  I'm DDD and didn't like how strapless looked on me.  I went with v neck.  I would have loved v neck with rouching at the waist.  I think that dress is gorgeous though so try it on and see what you think.
  • That is a really pretty dress!!! I ordered mine online without trying it on ahead of time. I would ask first, maybe they could send you a sample dress like they did for me, to adjust and make sure the size was right and everything.  And I agree with some of the other ladies...check around at bridal stores for material that you are comfortable with first. My prom dress was the same material my wedding dress is and I love it! Also, being busty I think it will be fine, If you are worried about the strapless part of it, believe me, you'll hold it up, esp. if you make sure it's an exact fit the day of, it wont go anywhere, even while you're dancing. ...And you said you have a year left, If you are going to order it online, make sure you get the order in, the company I went through made some extra changes on mine for me and I ordered it in October and didn't get it until March....I ordered mine over a year in advance incase for some reason it needed to go back and be fixed for some odd reason....Just make sure you get on it if you still want to order it online!!! Good luck with everything!!!
