Pearls or no pearls?

I'm having a hard time deciding if pearls will go with my wedding attire. My dress is bright white with silver accents and rhinestones. My head piece is sparkly rhinestones. And my veil is sparkly. My future mother in law gave me the earrings she wore at her wedding before I picked out my dress but they are a very dark silver with an ivory pearl. I feel they don't match AT ALL. I havent really mentioned it to her, but out of the blue she told me one day that she doesn't want me to think that I HAVE to wear them and her feelings won't be hurt if I don't. But I'm feeling kinda bad. Help?

  • How big are they?  Are they just small studs?  How are you wearing your hair?  If they're what I'm picturing and you're wearing your hair down, how visible will they really be?  You could wear them and avoid any potential guilt or hurt feelings and still not clash with the rest of your jewelry.

  • What about with your rehearsal dinner outfit if they don't go with your dress?

  • If she said not to worry about it, I wouldn't.  Don't wear them if you don't feel like they go with your dress, I like the suggestion of wearing them to the rehearsal.
