Re: Ring Insurance?

  • It's covered under our general home owner's policy.  We purchased a specific rider for my e-ring since that's more expensive than the general jewelry provision but neither of our bands was that expensive.

So his ring is covered just under your home owner's policy?  Did you have to get the stated in the policy specifically?

I should have noted that I do have mine insured and it is a completely separate policy as my ring was also considerably more than his.  I just never thought he was actually going to wear his ring and now that he is ... I'm thinking it just might be worth insuring.

  • Mine is covered under our House Insurace Policy.
  • We have my-rings covered under a policy from Jewelers Mutual. I would never put it under our homeowners insurance because I figure if I'm ever going to make a claim on anything, it's probably going to be my ring, and I don't want our homeowners going up as a result.

FI's wedding band wasn't expensive enough to warrant insurance.

  • I have a rider on our homeowner's insurance for my ring, but since we both opted for simple wedding bands, we did not do a special rider for them.

</div><div>My normal policy limits jewelry coverage to $2000 - check the fine print on yours.  Honestly, since his ring costs far less than our deductable I doubt I'd file the claim unless it was lost in a house fire or something (*knocks on wood*).</div>
  • Immediately, even before he even gave it too me. And after we got both our wedding bands. He put it on our Homeowners policy.

  • Our renters insurance covers jewelry up to $1000. We have a special provision for my engagement ring because it was more than that but the wedding bands won't be....I hope.

  • The bands are under our general homeowner's policy; my engagement ring is covered by a rider on the same policy.
