I'm looking for advice on what to do with my dress store. I ordered my dress in October. It was supposed to arrive in March, didn't though. I continued calling in to the store to find out what was going on, they only returned 1 in 5 calls, and thats me calling over a 2 mth period, so pretty rude. Then in may they say its been sent out by the manufacturer and will arive May 15th. Nope. I asked, well can you call the company and find out where it is, whats going on, and they would say "sure" but it turns out they never did. So we're all just sitting in the dark cause my store is too lazy to make a simple phone call, and I'm now panicking, so I call another store. Those people called the manufacturer for me and found out there was something sneaky going on (now thats the service I should have been getting!) I called my store every day, they avoided answering their phone, wouldn't respond to my messages, and the one time I just drove over there, they ignored me and said they were busy with another bride, and I should call later. YOU don't answer my calls!!!!
Anyway now the dress finally arrived, 2 weeks before my wedding ( i have to travel with the dress just before) and it turned out it had been sent to another store in colorado and kept there before they figured things out. Well a phone call from my store 3 weeks ago would have sorted that out!
So now the dress needs alterations, the bustle wasn't the way I had wanted and it needs to be taken in a little. She started quoting me $100 for taking in, and $60 for the bustle change, and I'm thinking I should bargain her down for all the stress this has caused me due to their lack of doing their jobs or even being courteous in calling me back. I'm not much of a haggler or a bitchy person by nature, but this whole thing has rendered me a mess..
Should I bargain her down for alterations cost, and if so how much is reasonable?
