Shower Fashion

I have only been to one bridal shower that I can ever think of.  And for the life of me I can't remember what the bride was wearing.  SOOOO my shower is this Saturday and I have NO idea what I should be wearing. I am not really a dress kinda girl, but will wear one for special occasions.  I was thinking along the lines of capris and a nice blouse.  There's no theme for the shower, and its being held a nice restaurant with about 40 people.  And another question, am I supposed to wear white because I am the bride?

Re: Shower Fashion

  • All the bridal showers I've been to in the last few years - the bride has worn a dress.  It wasn't white, just something cute, not dressy formal.
  • Where what ever you you want and are comfortable in. If its capris and a nice top that's fine.

I am wearing a casual white dress to mine, but I've definitely been to showers where brides have worn completely different colors.

  • I have a casual white dress for mine, but that's only because it's a cute dress and I wanted it, not because it's white. Wear whatever you like!

I wore a print dress to one (traditional, ladies only) and jeans and a nice sweater to the other (co-ed, game night shower).  I was at a shower last weekend where the bride is a  kind of granola-crunchy type that never wears dresses - she wore khakis, a nice top and a caridigan.  It was dressy for her and perfect for her laid-back shower.

  • I wore a black, white and pink floral skirt, a pink tank top and a black cardigan to mine.  It was cute and comfy.  Wear whatever makes you feel good!

  • i have one shower at a house, and one at a nice restaurant. i'm probably going to do a sundress or skirt/top combo for the casual one, and a kneelength dress for the formal one.

if you're not a dressy person, and your shower is fairly casual, capris and a nice blouse would be fine.
  • I wore capris, a nice blouse, and flip flops to both of my showers, and even though everyone else at the shower was wearing a dress, I felt very comfortable...much more than I would have in a dress.  It's your shower, wear what you want!!!!
