white at the rehersal dinner?

I'm having trouble figuring out what to wear to my rehersal dinner.  Our wedding is in the end of July so we are having a relaxed BBQ themed rehersal dinner.  I have a pretty white linen Ralph Lauren sundress that I haven't worn yet and I'm considering it instead of shopping for another one.  Is it bad to wear white at the rehersal dinner?

Also - my FI is wearing a nice seersucker suit (blue and white) so I worry about clashing with him too.

I don't know!  I just wanted to check and make sure there wasn't some crazy rule or it was "bad luck" or something like that!  Thanks!

I wore white at my RD. I don't usually wear white ever, so it was kinda nice to stand out all weekend.

It seems like custom around these parts to wear white to everything wedding related...everything. Showers, RD, yada yada. My friend even went as far as always wearing at the very least a white top to any vendor meeting. She claimed it was good luck. I'm far too clumsy for that. I plan to wear white to my RD, but only because my BM's bought me a white dress to wear for it

Yeah, I've heard lots of brides wear white to the RD.  If I can find a white dress that I like in time, I probably will too!

This is a good question for me, too, although I'm getting married in October...so white is usually 'out' after Labor Day and might look silly.  I know I'm the bride, but dare I say it...even brides can look silly!! lol

Wear it!!! Save the money for something else special...perhaps some great shoes, accessories or jewelry to go with it
