BM Dresses-Same dress Diff Colors?

Just had an idea, what if i had my BMs wear the same dress but in 5 different colors? My colors are wines, purples, and dark reds. Ideas/Tips/Suggestions?

  • I think it sounds fun! Kinda depends on the feel you're going for with the wedding. If it's really formal, that may not look great, but if it's a bit more informal, have fun! You could also consider different shades of the same color. It may be tough to do. Also, using the same dress can be difficult if you have a lot of different body types in your wedding. For example, my sisters and I are all varying heights and weights and could never wear the same style of dress. All those are factors to consider.

  • I think it'd be cute.  But be careful with making everyone wear the same type of dress.  I had to really look for one that would fit all my bridesmaids since they range in shapes and sizes.

I have seen it done where it looks adorable and where it looks tacky.. just be careful that they flow. I would pick one color and use the different shades of that color if you're going to go that route..
  • I have seen done.  My photographer actually did a wedding where there were six girls and there was three different color dresses.  It looked very fun and laid back.  Her colors were green, pink, and orange.
  • I'm doing exactly this.  My biggest problem was that my girls have very different skin tones, so putting them in all the same color would be difficult.  So they're all in pastel spring-y colors.  I have 5 girls and they each have a different color.  I think they'll look like a bouquet of wildflowers.  :)

  • I went different but same style and LOVED it!

  • i got the same dress is six different colors.  my theme is fall/old hollywood.  I found a dress on sale at davids and that looks good on everyone.  the colors are:
persimmon, plum, navy, apple, black, gold
it looks really sharp, but don't let the colors stray too far from your scheme.  I have incorporated every color and i was worried it would look like a rainbow, but it doesn't TG! :)

My friend did this and it was so, so, SO pretty. I really loved it. Her girls wore different shades of pastel- pink, purple, yellow, periwinkle, etc. The most stunning was seeing them all lined up behind one another coming down the aisle. It's something that I never thought of before but when I saw it I realized that it is actually more beautiful than everyone wearing the same colour! For some reason it seemed sort of "royal" to me. Very eye-catching and interesting without being too "out there" and it isn't as untraditional as you'd think when you see it in person. I'm a  HUGE fan of this look!
  • Make sure you see all the dresses/colors together in person.  If the 5 colors seems too much, I picked 2 colors not in the same family and both groups of girls are excited about the color they are wearing.
