Re: %4&fgh2!~

  • Why not compromise and have him match your level (and the wedding's level) of formality for the ceremony and pictures. He can always change into something more 'him' like you described above later.

BTW - I just got back from New Orleans and loved every minute of it. Seriously, that city is the bomb.
  • I don't think you are being unreasonable at all.

My fiance and I are both very casual  dressers 99.9% of the time, but we're both dressing up all the way for our wedding.

My fiance is in an industry where he can wear jeans and T-shirts to work even. He is THE most casual person I know.

Here's my advise on convincing him.  Explain to him how important of an occasion this is, and that you want to mark the occasion as significant and formal by dressing up.  Explain that it would mean the world to you to see him dressed in a suit/tux for your wedding day.  Also, explain to him how very handsome he will look in a suit and tux and that it wold be the best wedding present he could give you. I've never met a man who DIDN'T like the way he looked in a suit/tux - even the casual dressing ones.  Suits/Tuxes make any man 10 times more handsome than he already is!  He sounds like someone who doesn't dress formally very often, so perhaps he doesn't even know what he's missing?

Explain to him that a wedding is all about customs, traditions, and formality.  Look at all the rituals we go through at wedding? Every moment and aspect of a wedding stems from a tradition that is been around for a while - the white dress, the toasts, the wedding ceremony, the rings, etc. (EVEN if you aren't having a "traditional" wedding, the event itself - a ceremony followed by a reception/party stems from a long line of traditions).  Tell him that by dressing up, you are marking the importance and significance of the occasion and following with the traditions that are important to you.

Lastly, you could always go with the tried and true "Do this for me because you love me!"  That's worked a lot for me! Cool
