I live in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and am getting married in Boston. FI and I prefer to take JetBlue because they fly direct and for other reasons. Spirit is the only other airline that flies direct and we hate using them. I called JetBlue this morning and asked them regarding bringing a wedding dress on board. They have no place to hang it and suggest I buy an additional ticket for it, which I figure would only be a one way ticket. I don't mind carrying it on and putting it in an overhead compartment on the way back. Buying an extra ticket means draping it over a seat, which means I will be bothering the person in the seat behind it, so I'm not fond of that. If we fly out of Miami and try American Airlines (not even sure if they have better space to hang my dress?) the tickets are more expensive and not worth all the hassle it would involve. I'm also considering taking the risk of sending it Fed Ex, which my dress shop discourages. I've asked if they will ship it and they won't. Has anyone shipped their wedding gown? I have a dry cleaners near our hotel in Boston that has a good reputation. I can take it there if it needs to be steamed. TIA for any suggestions!
