color scheme and clothing..

Hi! I'm newly engaged and in the beginning processes of planning :) We are planning a late fall wedding, and would like to have a color scheme that incorporates burnt orange, deep red, golden yellow, cream, and dark brown. First of all, is that too many colors!? Secondly, I'm having trouble deciding what colors our wedding parties should wear. I think I'd like my girls to wear deep red, but can't envision the guys in dark brown without it looking out dated or weird. Can they wear black and it still work if our reception has brown incorporated? Help me please haha I'm a mess! :)
they say we're young, and we don't know. we won't find out until we grow. well i don't know if all that's true, cause you got me, and baby i got you...

Re: color scheme and clothing..

  • Don't stress over this. The more and more you go shopping and see things you like, the more your vision will become real. My color scheme changed like 4-5 times.

A lot of tux places have really great deep brown suits that they could wear. Or I think it'd look find with black.

Google to see pictures of wedding parties, or just look on here. You'll get a lot of good ideas from how things look in photos.

  • Nah, it's not too many colors. And it's totally fine for the guys to wear black, and work the brown into the decor. Some ladies try way too hear to put all of their colors onto the bridal party and it ends up looking awkward.

<div>I agree, as I was very close to this. I was originally going with pink and yellow.  I was going to put my MOH in pink with yellow flowers and the BMs in yellow with pink flowers.  And then I had images of walking into Barbie's wedding and immediately changed my mind.</div><div>
</div><div>Point is...you can have as many colors as you want, just use them correctly.  It sounds like you're almost going more with a "palette" than a color, and I think that can work out great!</div>

  • It's not to many colors and will look great with your decor!

I know a lot of people on this board aren't a fan of dark brown tuxes, but we used them for our pink/orange/brown fall wedding and love how they turned out!

I have a ton of pics in my bio (and designer info) but here's a few pics:

  • Thank you all for the great input! I'm going to do my best to trust that it will all fall into place :) This was all very helpful! I'm going to consider my colors as less of a color scheme, and more of a palette, because I think that will help in not making it so matchy.
