Shapewear question

I bought some shapewear this weekend to go under my dress - I got the one that comes up to your bra and goes down to mid-thigh. Just to smooth things out under the dress.

Question is, how in the world am I supposed to go to the bathroom with this thing on? I don't want to have to undo the whole dress to pull it down! Should I take it back and get one that just comes to the waist? I'm afraid I'll have the whole "muffin top" thing happening if I do that.

Advice?

    Aha! They make shape wear with a hole in the crotch so you can pee. Mine doesn't have one, so I'm going to have my seamstress put one in for me. It's a piece of cake. Just don't wear it before you have the hole put in.

    Yeah, mine doesn't have one either... and I'm DONE with my seamstress. She caused me way too much stress over my dress so I will not be returning. Hmmm...

    They make the Spanx ones that have an "open" type crotch just for this very thing.  And if you don't have the one that goes down to mid thigh the whole crotch unbuttons just like a baby's onsie!! No joke

    Wait! I totally think that hole is for ventilation.. NOT peeing.. how in the heck do you pee through a little hole w/o gettin pee everywhere? Maybe I am stupid or sheltered, I just gotta know!

    the one i got is this one ...the open crotch thing is actually a "double gusset".... who knew....  I got this one at Lane Bryant for $30.  They also have a brand called Assetts at Target that are made by the same designer.

    I was afraid of your same concerns so I went with a Flexees firm control waist nipper. It covers my waist only, which is the only area that needs some help. This way I can wear cute undies and not have bathroom issues. And I didn't want shapewear on my thighs making an appearance for the garter toss!
