Over the Knee for the Ceremony?

I've found a dress that I love but it sits about 1 1/2 inches above my knee. The wedding isn't going to be terribly formal but I'd still like to maintain an air of sophistication for the ceremony (it will be very intimate- family only for the ceremony part) and I'm just not sure if over the knee would kill the mood. Any thoughts on the matter?

    I've seen some dresses that have a separate skirt that detaches for the reception.  Is that an option?

    An inch and a half is a pretty small amount (unless you are a guy of course **wink, wink**) to worry about.  Now if the dress hit right at mid thigh or higher then I would start rethinking things.  But in no way will 1 1/2 inches above your knee "kill the mood".
