HELP! Not wanting to wear heels!

Hey ladies,

I have a dilemma.  I would really like to have some height but I cannot stand high heels.  I walk terrible in them and they hurt my feet.  Any ideas??

Thanks!!

  • I'm wearing a 1" heal for the ceremony and switching to flip-flops for the reception. If you are uncomfortable in heals, I recommend only doing a small one in case you decide to kick them off - then your dress will not be too long and trip you.

  • I tried on wedges with my dress, they were better than heels.. but was looking for another alternative so I can feel less insecure about how i'm walking and more comfortable.

  • I'm not quite sure what you want us to tell you.. I mean.. You want height without heels? There's... not much we can tell you besides start praying that you'll grow? Have you looked at low-heeled platforms? Not the cutest and probably hard to find since it's not.. ya know.. the 70's... but that would be the only other option I can think of..
  • Try looking for something with a really wide heel.  I hate wearing high heels; I can't walk properly at all in them and I lose my balence easily.  But if I'm wearing a heel that's the same width as the shoe, it's generally ok for a short time.  How much height are you looking for?  You might be able to find some boots or sneakers with very thick soles that would help.  And if your dress will be floor length, no one is really going to see unless you show them off.

  • You could do a platform fip flop.

  • I'm wearing like a 1" heel (if that counts) for the ceremony, then changing into custom Converse for the reception.   I  am not unsteady in heels, I wear them all the time but I'm gonna be walking down the aisle in grass and couldn't find any wedges I liked. haha

  • I am doing a platform flip flop.  My dress is big and poofy so I figured since no one will see them why not be comfortable. I didn't like the ones they had out there so I just bought a plain white pair and decorated it with my MOH to make it look more fancy and personal (FI's last name is Lake).

  • Maybe you need to find a wedge that has a strap across the back of the heel to keep it snug on your foot. As for them hurting your feet, just bring a pair to switch into, as most ppl suggested. The only problem with flip flops is that they make the "flip flop" noise when you walk.
not this shoe, but this shape may be nice:

  • With how thick the flip flop is, how snug it fits my foot and how big my dress is you can't tell at all that I'm in flip flops (no noise). I've worn them and walked around in my dress a lot to make sure I wouldn't have that issue. I guess it will depend on what kind of dress you have but I would say give it a try because I LOVE mine.
