Hello fellow brides-to-be!

Is anyone familiar with the Casablanca 1977?  I got this dress, but I am having it altered to remove the strap and and crystals so it's plain.  I know I could have gone with a plain dress in another style without having to remove the strap and crystals but I love the shape of it and the way it bustles.  Was wondering if anyone has ever removed the strap?  I was thinking of adding a beaded belt.  Anyone have any pictures?

Did you order it already? If not, casablanca does neckline changes for you through them. (that way, you have a better chance of it coming out good).

I think removing strapg is fine. my only concern would be is one side of the sweetheart higher than the other because of the strap? I can't tell in picture

If it were me I would leave it as is.  I love the strap with the crystal detailing.  It makes it a bit more unique.

But if you really want to do it, here is a picture of the dress sans strap.  It looks like the side with the strap would need to be altered a bit to make it match the other side, but it is definitely doable.  I also think a wide beaded belt would be a great addition to really emphasis the waist.

agree with PP so check to see if they can already order it sans strap... I'm a casablanca bride and while I stayed with the strapless (although I thought I wanted straps!), but anyway my consultant told me they can add/delete straps to any dress and they also changed the neckline for me (Only $60 extra). I'm noticing the type of strap.  Did you talk to them about options?  I think strapless with the belt addition would be beautiful; The original is very pretty to begin with though too.
