Bridesmaid Dresses - Black or Grey?

My wedding is August 4th and I still do not have bridesmaids dresses picked out. My original colors were grey and pink and I ordered a grey dress from J.Crew which looked really cute on line. My bridesmaids were not in love with the dress though so we returned them. I would like to order dresses online from a retailer where we can easily return if we do not like the dress. I haven't been able to find any other grey dresses I love so am now considering black.

Is black a bad choice for an August wedding? The wedding is in the evening and as it a mansion so I am thinking that black would be appropriate. Attached is a black dress I ordered. I like the dress but am not completely sold on the one shoulder.

Any thoughts or suggestions on either grey or black dresses are welcome!

I love black!  My girls are wearing black for my April wedding.  I think it's such a great color because any other color will go as a accent color.  Also, because they're black, there is a chance they could wear the dresses again!

Oh I love the 1 shoulder! I think that dress is awesome.

My girls are wearing a charcoal grey color. I do love it but black really is timeless. It sounds like it will go well with your time/place and like you said, black you really can wear over again.

I love the black dresses for your venue and I thnk they're fine for August. I think the one shoulder is classy. I also like that they're dresses the bridesmaids can wear again.

i was a bridesmaid in an August wedding and all the bridesmaids were black. It was an evening wedding. worked out.
