Me in my dress + question about what to wear underneath PIP

I got my dress at DB, the pic on the left was taken in store in the "white" version.. the pic on the right was taken at home with my actual dress (not laced up in the back though so it's not as fitted as it should be.. no one was home so I didn't have the help lol) and it's in "ivory"

Anyway, I love it and surprisingly had an amazing experience at DB considering a lot of the negative stuff you hear about them.

Question is: Anyone have any good recommendations for what to wear under it? The bras they had me try on at DB were just really cheap feeling and didn't really do it for me. I think I would like something with a little bit of a push.

  • Your dress is beautiful!! Hard to recommend a bra without seeing the back/how low it is. I assume the part that laces up has a piece of fabric underneath so you can't see through it?

I am small-chested and need a lot of push - love wonderbra.

Kohl's and Macy's both carry them.

If you need backless, you could try something like this from VS:

  • the dress is gorgeous and it looks really pretty on you.  As for what to wear underneath.. i know a lot of girls have their bra sewn in..... is that an option?
  • Look into having cups sewn into your dress.  That can be a lot more comfortable than trying to fit a bra on under the dress.

If your dress has a corset, which it sounds like it does, I'd just have cups sewn into the dress. The corset should be able to pull everything in and up. My dress had a corset (I didn't even bother having cups sewn in) and it really did wonders!

You can really tell in this picture.

  • I was just talking to my MOH.... she had the same dress...(i'm pretty sure it was the same).  It looked gorgeous on her....she said she just had cups sewn in and that was all she needed.  Like you..she said that every bra she tried..it was not very comfortable..but that with the cups she got all the push up she needed with the corset top and that it was very comfortable to wear.

Honestly, that never even crossed my mind as an option.

I will have to look into it though - thanks for the suggestions!

(and yes, it's a corset back, so I think that might just work) :)
  • I don't have any reccomendations, but I got my dress there too last week and I HATED their bras too! They were very cheap!

i went for my first dress shopping trip there 2 weeks ago and for every dress i tried on the bra just felt so ackward and uncomfortable and it made the bodice of the dresses look weird i thought.  i tried on several different bras and it was the same thing...i started to get worried that that was the way i was until i went to a different salon the next week and tried one of their bras...omg what a difference. it was there that they also suggested that i get cups swen in - i had never thought of that either...
