Groom/groomsmen attire dilemma!

Hey brides to be! I'm getting married on June 8th of this year and had the idea of having the groomsmen as well as the groom wear tan suits with a vest. It would be an amazing alternative to black tuxes in the hot Tennessee summer. The thing is that I am having trouble finding my idea actually in stores to rent or even just buying, at a reasonable price (preferably under $100). If anyone has an idea of where I should look, please let me know. Thank you sooo much! I have also included a link to my inspiration pic that I found on Pinterest.

  • This in "chinchilla" would come to $100 for pants & vest...

It's not a perfect color but it's close.  Now is a hard time of year for that color.

Is the groom and are the groomsmen okay with this idea?  Your FI is a grown man and can make wardrobe decisions for himself, and as the groomsmen are HIS attendants, he should get to decide what they wear, just as you decide with your bridesmaids what they will wear.

My vote is keep your nose out of it and let your FI sort it out.
  • My husband and groomsmen all wore suites at my wedding.  I love the idea. http://happinessiscreating.com/my-wedding/. I let them wear any old black suit they had, but I do knw men's warehouse has specials like buy one get two free.  You may want to check them out.

  • My husband got his at a department store.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • I thought that the vest would keep its little more dressy than just khaki suit pants w a white button up. I'll be sure to look into the two piece suit idea though. Thank you so much.

[QUOTE]Do you mean suits WITH a vest, or suits pants and a vest?  I would recommend skipping the vest altogether.  They fit close to the body and are hot.  Vests like that are not meant to be worn without a jacket. How about a two piece suit instead?  The guys could take off the jackets after the ceremony and enjoy the reception in comfort. Linen suits are seasonal.  it's a bit early for them.  You should be able to find them easily by mid March.

This is a bit of a rude comment, my fianc are discussing every aspect of the wedding together! I'm sure that this is the case with this couple and if not most guys say, "tell me what to wear, where to be, and what time to be there" luckily my fianc is helping me a lot but not being a "groomzilla" chill out! And I'm I'm glad she asked this question bc I'm actually looking for the exact same type of tuxedos/suits. Thanks for those of you that gave some great ideas!

Thanks. I totally agree. It's not like I'm totally taking over the wedding. I have asked for his opinion throughout the whole process. I just thought it was a good idea about the suits and he agrees as well. He doesn't want to be in a thick for tux along w a jacket.
