Jewelry Help!

Hey Ladies!

I'm having a hard time deciding what jewelry to wear with my dress. I have a few ideas (see photos below), but I am afraid a necklace might be too much for the dress (see link). But then I'm afraid that my neck will look oddly bare...thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

PS I do have a subtle headpiece/band and will be wearing my hair half up.

  • I like all your jewelry selections!  But I assume you will be wearing the strap with your dress?  If so, I'd either skip a necklace or keep it really simple (IE, a thin chain with a small pendant of sorts) and go more with statement earrings.

I know what you mean about "bare neck", though - I wore a strapless shirt in my e-pics without a necklace, and now when I look at the photos my bare neck draws my attention in a negative way.

I'd wait until you have your dress, and then do a "mock up" with jewelry you already own - it might not be what you are planning on wearing, but it will give you more of an idea of whether it looks better with or without a necklace.

I can honestly say that I've never once noticed a bride's jewelry.

I don't think your neck will look bare, and I agree with CMGr that a necklace could detract from the one-shoulder effect.   If you want to wear earrings then maybe just go with something simple or meaningful to you.

  • If you decide to wear a necklace, I would suggest keeping it very simple and small.  I think with a one shoulder dress, focusing on the earrings would be a better idea than a necklace.
