Bridesmaid Dress Help Needed- Size 36/38

One of my best friends is obviously in my wedding and we are having trouble finding dress options for her. We all went shopping at the bridal store I bought my gown and unfortunately they do not carry any bridesmaid dresses that will fit her. She is a size 36/38and I just want her to be comfortable and feel fabulous! I am letting all my girls pick from two different colors and just want them to be in a short, flowing material dress since the wedding is on the beach in Mexico.

Does anyone have any suggestions of where to look for options for her?

Thank you so much for your help!!

    Wow, that's a tough one.

I just did a little googling. it looks like www.ullapopken.com sells some jersey-knit dresses up to size 38. Of course, it pretty much limits her color options to black, fuchsia, navy, or red.

If she has a seamstress she trusts, you could work together to design a dress...
  • All the designers sizes are differen so dont look at size...but look at the measurments...thats what i had to do because the measurments are very different.  Good luck

  • There was a thread on the plus size board recently about finding size 40 BM dresses.  You might find some suggestions there.
  • I found a pretty cool size with a few options in a size 38. Below I posted a picture of one dresss I really liked for a beach wedding I don't know what your two color options are but it comes in aqua, pink, seafoam green, and coral all pretty beach colors. The only thing is it is a long dress and you want short but that could simply be fixed by and alterations person. Just have them cut it off to make a short dress I have done this with this style and it look great! Hope this helps! If she wants straps have them added out of the matching shawl at the alterations place.

  • Thank you all for your help! My friend had someone offer to make her a dress so I told her it was up to her whether to buy from some place she is comfortable doing so or to have one made. I'd rather her go a route she is comfortable with and will like the dress! Again, thank you for all your responses!
  • Why don’t you have it custom made? I did the same thing myself, ordered 4 bm dress from http://www.inweddingdress.com/discount-bridesmaid-dresses.html and 2 custom made dresses. U can pick out the dresses and put in all the bridesmaids custom sizes and they will tailor them to fit!! But its probably best to order early to be on the safe side!!
