Purple shoes AND cardi - is that too much color?

Our colors are dark purple and black; I wanted to wear dark purple heels (platform, peep toe).  I also decided I want to wear a dark purple cardigan - I always wear cardis and it will be a bit of 'me' plus cover my arms (why are all these dresses strapless?!). 

My dress is all lace, no beading whatsoever:

Mine is ivory lace over 'light gold' (dusty champagne really) satin. 

Is this too much color?  I don't want to look odd or tacky, but I don't know what else to do for shoes if they aren't purple.  I'm not wearing white/ivory/cream shoes.  Suggestions?  Has anyone done this and have pics where they have a color shoe and cardi/cover up?

I was going to say that it might be too much, but after looking at the pics in the blog that Duds posted, it would actually be really cute!!!

Thank you!  That blog is perfect for what I want to do, and it made me feel better about the cardi.  You're right, the shoes will be hidden and I guarantee they will be replaced with flip flops or some flats pretty quickly anyway.
