So after my first fitting, my dress fit me almost perfectly. Just needed to take in the bust a little. But my second fitting was horrible. The top of the dress is organza pleats. But when they opened up the dress to tighten the seems, they screwed up the pleating. It looked all uneven and puckered. They pinned it all down, but what are they planning on doing? Sewing it down? It's pleating. Either it falls correctly or it doesn't. I also hate the way the bustle looked and they didn't even do the other things I had asked for (a pocket in the lining). These people didn't seem to have any clue what they were doing and I have absolutely no confidence in their ability to fix it.
The truth is I was not in love with the dress in the first place. I was never in love with any dresses, and I tried on just about everything. So I thought my first instinct was the way to go. I was really hoping I would love it during the fitting but this is making me really regret my choice, and most of all, the salon I chose to buy from.
There is a sample sale this weekend. Should I be running out for a replacement? My wedding is in less than 6 weeks and I spent 4 grand on this dress! I don't know what to do.
