Alteration costs

I know that it will vary based on region and type of fabric/details of dress, but what should I expect for generic alterations, like cups sewn in, a plain hem, sides taken in?

I had the exact same alterations and mine was 330. Mine has some beading on the bodice that needs to be removed, but nothing overly dramatic.

I would probably budget for around $250 if you have a fairly simple dress.  Beading and stuff will raise the price, obviously.

I had what you are describing and it costs $300

I had the same.  Sides taken in, hemmed, cups, it was only $75.  This was from an older woman who had a fabrics and notions store and did alterations on the side.

I haven't started any alterations, but I did ask the pricing of a local seamstress. She was a recommendation from a coworker who had her bridal gown altered by this same lady. She actually charges by the hour - $18/hr. She estimated the alteration of the bust of my dress to take maybe 2 hrs and another 2 hrs to hem my dress. That's the majority of what I will need, but may take it in more to allow more of the corset ribbon ties to show thru. So I'm expecting my alterations to be less than $100....but we'll see how that turns out
