Flats for the ceremony too?

Is anyone wearing flats for their entire wedding day?  I am trying to figure out if there would be a downside to this.  I am 5'9", my fiance is over 6' so thats not an issue, I just want to make sure I am comfortable and dont really want to change shoes half way through since I plan to have my dress hemmed to my shoe height - in other words I dont want to wear 3" heels for the ceremony, and be tripping over myself at the reception because I switched to flats.  I was thinking about wearing these...fancy enough yet I could wear them again after the wedding:

What do you ladies think?  Thanks in advance!

  • Those are very cute shoes. I don't see any problem with wearing flats all day. You'll be a lot more comfortable and the ones you picked looked stylish. I say go for it!
  • I'm wearing flats all day.  I don't do well in heels to begin with and FI is just slightly taller than me.  Wear whatever you are comfortable in.
  • I'd go with the same pair of shoes all day.  Those flats are great!

Those are very cute! If your dress is floor-length nobody will notice that you're wearing flats. I'm going floorlength and I'm looking for something like what you picked.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with wearing flats. I myself almost went for flats as well...the only thing that stopped me was the fact that I only wanted to buy one pair of shoes for the rehearsal dinner and the wedding. So in the end my rehearsal dinner dress is what dictated my shoe purchase! I think the main thing is that you go for what you're most comfortable in b/c really that's all that matters! :)

  • I wore flats for the ceremony, and I'm the same height as you.  My wife is 8 inches shorter than me, and wore 2" heels, so my wearing flats just put us a little closer to the same height.  These were mine:
