In wedding dress searching i LOVE the style of vera wang ethel dress and I keep coming back to it, fitted with flare and texture at the bottom....BUT i have a friend who wore this dress. Has anyone seen anything similar?

I hope this is not serious. You do not know OP. You do not know what it will look like on her. So rude.

Anyway, OP that dress is gorgeous! I know Maggie Sottero Nova is quite similar and would be less than $1000.

  • Jeebus people. She probably just thinks that the first pic in the post is the OP. Not everyone stalks Pinterest. SO RUDE!!!1!!

Anyway, OP. Check out Allure Bridals and Maggie Sottero. That's a pretty popular style right now, so most major and replica brands (like DaVinci Bridals) might have some really similar styles that won't break the bank. GL!
  • I agree, ignore PP - if that is you in the first picture, you would look amazing in anything!  It did kind of remind me of Kim Kardashian's wedding dress (or one of them), which Vera Wang designed.  Apparently David'd Bridal is going to be selling replicas of all Kim's dresses starting in February:

Otherwise, I also agree with PPs in that the style of "ethel" is pretty popular right now.  Maybe look for a used one?  Or I'd take the photo of it to bridal shops and ask if they have anything similar.

  • Yes sorry I should have said it, that first picture is not me! Haha Also, I don't exactly need to find something less expensive...... Just not this exact dress because my friend wore it in her wedding! I didn't really even see anything similar on davinci. The Maggie "nova" is pretty but the ruffles come up a little to high. Sighhhh I'll keep looking.
  • Have you seen Vera Wang's new line of dresses? I've looked at pictures and they have several dresses that are similar. The pics that have been floating around online are of black dresses, but they make them in ivory :)

This Rivini gown reminds me of the Ethel. I hope that link works..if not the dress is called Lismora.

    Also, VW's "Holly" is similar.

[QUOTE]Whoa!  Just my opinion, ladies!  I'm not a fan of mermaid gowns.  I thought the second pincture was the OP.

<div>This is the greatest thing I've read in months.  You thought a Kardashian sister was the OP, meaning there's a woman in America who doesn't follow the Kardashians.  There's hope for humanity after all.</div><div>

  • Found more that are similar! My gown is a Vera Wang and I'm now remembering all the other Vera Wang's I tried on...I think you said that the price point of Vera Wang dresses was okay, and these aren't the current season so you should be good.

    VW "Gemma"

VW "Fiona" - when I tried this on they told me the neckline can be easily altered to be more symetrical, so then it would look more like the Ethel.

VW "Erica" - love this one, almost bought it.

I feel like Vera Wang has a very distinct style, so I think you'd have the best luck looking for another dress by her! Hope this helps! I'm loving looking at these dresses, I <3 Vera.
  • Have you tried Paloma Blanca 4162? It has a similar shape with a different bottom
