Don't buy dresses at Gowns by Louise in Morris Park in the Bronx!

I recently went to Gowns by Louise to order a second dress for my wedding.  They told me I had to order the dress I wanted because they did not have it in stock.  So I got measured, ordered the dress, and gave a deposit.  They called me weeks later to tell me the dress had come in.  When I went in the dress they ordered was a size 12.  I could be a size 8 at the most but a size 12, not in a million years.  When I flipped out they told me they could alter it because all dresses are ordered large sizes so they can be altered.  No its more like you want to charge me to alter the dress.  Okay so they tell me to go pick something off the rack since after all this is my mistake because I ordered the dress. When I told them that I ordered the dress because THEY told me to order it they got even more snippier.  I saw the dress online for $150 and in my size what a shock!  So After looking and looking I found a dress that was okay since they had crap samples.  The dress was dirty but I was assured it would be cleaned.  Again they measured me and assured me everything was going to be fine especially since, after all "this is not Klienfeld's, it's Gowns by Louise" (spoken by the lady herself).  Yesterday I go in and guess what the dress is still dirty and not just dirty, it looks like it has brown water stains on the inside.  The padding they were supposed to put on the breast portion of the dress was held together by one string on the top and bottom (one of which broke off).  When I called them in they told me I had to speak to Louise.  She tells me basically that the dress was off the rack (so what screw me because it came off the rack) like that was acceptable.  She told me she would find another dress for me and told me she had NEW stuff that came in which turned out to be the same crap she showed me last month so how new was it?  The dresses she found were HORRIFIC and after almost breaking into tears (everyone knows I don't cry) I told her to forget it.  She told me she could send the dress to get cleaned again but ivory is a delicate color or she would take $50 off the price.  I told her just to fix it at that point.  If I would have known that I would have gone to the store where I bought my wedding dress from who are so very nice and pleasant and gotten another dress without all the hassle.  The only reason I didn't was because that store is far and Gowns by Louise was up the block from me.  Lesson learned.  I went online and ordered another dress to be rushed delivered hopefully but next week since my wedding is in three weeks. As for Gowns by Louise I strongly suggest you stay out of that store and spend your money somewhere else!
