My mother said I should wear stockings the day of my wedding.  I don't think I have to any suggestions?

Do you mean nylon stockings?  No, you do not have to. I don't think anyone wears those anymore other than maybe Boudoir photos.

I am not wearing stockings. I have peep toe shoes and I am not putting a stocking covered foot in those fabulous shoes.

No.  The only reason to wear stockings is if you are wearing a business suit.

You don't need to wear stockings under your dress.  Perhaps your mom is of the generation that wore stockings under everything, but you don't have to unless you want to.

Your mom must be old school like my grandma.  She was horrorfied when I said I wasn't wearing stockings.

I'm wearing stockings, but mostly because it's my style. (plus, it'll be the end of november, and I dont want blisters from dancing all night)

Mine are sheer white garter stockings with tiny white polka dots, and lace on top. I don't think you *have* to wear stockings, so if you don't want to, don't!

Nope, no stockings here either. I didnt need one more thing under that dress. Not to mention it would have been a PITA to try and use the bathroom, while holding up a dress and pulling down hose.

I try to avoid anything in the stocking/tights family, so I wont be wearing any

I don't mind stockings, but I won't be wearing them on my wedding day since we're doing a foot washing in the ceremony.. wet nylon is just not nice! At first my mom could not fathom how we would do a foot washing ceremony and I asked why and she said your nylons will get wet! haha it's funny how some generations assume one thing while another generationg assumes something else :P

That said, I'm not against stockings, but I'm not offended if people don't wear stockings :P Personal choice and comfort based on how they feel, shoes worn, temperature, etc.

I won't be wearing them. I think they look really classy when you're wearing a shorter dress or skirt (only with closed toed shoes, though), but it would just be miserable to deal with them in a wedding dress...ALL day.

I wore them under my poufy florr length prom dress my freshman year of high school because my mom to me too. Huge mistake. I can't even imagine how much worse that would be in a wedding dress. It was so hot and so uncomfortable.
