Okay, so my fiance(only child) and I have been together for 7 years. His family has never been particularly accepting of me because I have a daughter, and it has taken A LOT of work to make things civil.
My relationship with my FFIL and FSMIL is much better than my relationship with my Fi's biological mom(FMIL). And his Mom has always been a little odd. She is INCREDIBLY frugal, not because she has to be(She has plenty of money), but because its her choice. I respect her choice in most cases, but not this one.
Last week she informed me that she has no intention of buying a new dress for our wedding which is now only 10 weeks away. She said it would be ridiculous to buy a dress she's only going to wear once, and then said, "I'm not wasting money on that." She said I could come over and look through her closet for something to wear. Not to be snarky, but she hasn't bought new clothes in two decades and we're having a themed wedding. All the other family members have been having a blast out shopping together.
I fell like I'm being a bit bridezilla here, but I don't want her walking down the aisle or in the pictures if she isn't dressing in appropriate attire. Am I?
I thought about buying her dress for her but I think that might piss her off even more. What am I supposed to do?
