Ordering David's Bridal Dresses from different states

I have 5 bridesmaids. All of them are in NY with me except for one. Originally I was going to order the the out of state dress at the same time as the other girls and ship it down to FL when it comes in so she can have it altered.  The sales lady at Davids Bridal said I can have the FL bridesmaid go to a David's Bridal in FL and order it from there to save shipping costs. I asked about the dresses coming from different dye lots and she said that it wouldn't be an issue. Has anyone else done this? How did it work out?

  • We've done this in every wedding I've been in and I've never noticed a difference in color. I wouldn't worry about it. Even if they all order from the same store they might not come from the same dye lot.

  • The dyes are done by computer these days, so it really is not a problem. Good for your salesperson for telling you the truth. Usually all they want is the commission so they lie and say the dresses all have to be ordered at the same time.

  • Well she did say that I should have the dresses orderd at the same time, but only to make sure the dresses come in at the same time. That's another thing I'm worried about. I'm worried that the FL bridesmaid won't order her dress in time.
  • I'm chosing dresses from DB simply because of this...I've got multiple girls in different states and find it easier to tell them the style to get (once we've chosen) and let them go to their local store to try on and purchase etc. I'm going together with my local girls to see how they look in person, and my out of towners are sending me pics before we make the final decision and purchases...that way everyone is comfortable in it and there's no last minute craziness with shipping etc.
