Maid of honor wears different color shoes?

Hi everyone! So my bridesmaids are all wearing BRIGHT yellow dresses with simple grey heels. I let my bridesmaids all choose the style of dress they want since everyone has different body types (all the dresses are the exact same color and fabric though). Since everyone is wearing a different dress then the maid of honor can't really stand out in that way. I'm thinking that maybe she can wear different color shoes? Our accent cololors are gray and turquoise and I found a super cute pair of turquoise pumps I'm thinking that my maid of honor can wear since all of the other bridesmaids will be wearing the exact same light gray shoes. I've never seen this done before though so I'm hoping to get your thoughts. My maid of honor really wants to be distinct in some way (and i think she should be too) and she didn't love the idea of just have a slightly different bouquet. What do you think? Thanks!

Re: Maid of honor wears different color shoes?

  • I've never looked at shoes enough at a wedding for this to make the MOH stand out.   I would do a bigger/different (not just slightly, but still coordinating) bouquet, maybe add something to her hair, a sash, etc.
But, since the dresses are all different, any change would be subtle.  She's not going to have a blinking sign that says, "I have to help the bride pee all night."  Perhaps you could have a conversation with her that you want her to be set off from the other bridesmaids to honor her, and ask for her ideas.
