Colored shoes: bride & bridesmaids?

Hi ladies,

I'm thinking of wearing pink shoes for our wedding, but I also think pink shoes would look nice on my BMs. Our colors are navy & pink, and the BMs will most likely have plain navy dresses and pink flowers. I think I want to add another pop of pink, and thought the shoes would be cute... but if we all have pink shoes, do you think that's overkill? Will it ruin the "uniqueness" of just me wearing pink shoes?

I think you need to be unique, so don't be the same with your BM

Are the BM dresses long or short?  If they're long then no one will even see their shoes.  If they're short then I think pink would look good, just let them pick their own style.

they're short, so you'd definitely see them
i'm trying to find one style that looks nice on all the girls--but we're still in the process. i like the unified look of having them all match.

I think pink shoes would look great with the navy dress. I love those colours together.

Just remember though that if you are requiring a specific shoe then you should be paying too.

I voted the second option; nothing wrong with everyone having pink shoes. I love the idea of navy dresses + pink for the ladies. Another option is for you to wear navy blue shoes and they can double as your "something blue".

I like the idea of you all wearing pink shoes. That would be a nice, polished touch.

I guess you can all have pink shoes if you want.....Nothing is wrong or overkill.......This is also one of the uniqueness to have all in pink shoes......:) So if you want to have pink shoes just go for it and yes with your bridesmaids dress pink color shoes would really look good on them....So just ask them and if all of them are happy and comfortable then you all can wear the same color shoes.....

I agree with Ljacks87, I would do navy if I were you, though all pink would be a nice way to tie you all together if you really love the pink for you.  I don't think you necessarily need to pay for the shoes. Talk with your bridesmaids about it. If you can help pay, that's good. But, especially if you're allowing them to all be different as long as they're pink, I don't think you have to pay for all of them!

I may be the odd opinion here but I would have your girls wear navy shoes and keep the pink ones for yourself. If you were all wearing pink shoes, it would lessen the "specialness" of the pop of color from you. I'm also wearing pink shoes, and my sister (MOH) is as well, just because all the girls are wearing the same dress, so I wanted a way to differentiate between the MOH and the other BMs. Her shoes are different than mine though, mine are pink peep-toes and very sparkly, hers are pink pumps with only sparkles on the heels, so it'll be special still for me.

Oooh Pink Shoes! Our colors are Pink, Silver and Green. My bridesmaids are wearing pink dresses and silver shoes & I'm wearing hot pink glitter shoes. Why should everyone else get to wear my favorite color and me not get to wear it at all!

Thanks so much ladies, you've given me a lot to think about!
I'm honestly still torn, but I kinda like the idea of just me & my MOH (my twin sister) wearing pink shoes--especially cuz I mentioned the pink shoes to her, and she LOVES it lol. Thanks FutureMrsG! Just wondering--are you having all your BMs wearing the same shoe style, except your MOH's are pink? I'm assuming if I do that, I should prob. pay (at least partially)

I've also thought about wearing navy shoes as my "something blue"--great idea, but as of right now I'm stuck on having pink shoes. Guess I just have to think it through a little more--but thanks for all the great insights!

Our colors are navy blue/ yellow / white...My shoes are navy blue..BM shoes are really pale yellow..grooms socks are navy blue and groomsmen socks are pale yellow...I really really  want my groom and I to stand out.. so that was my reason for putting everyone else in a different "pop" of color..

But I definitely love the idea of the all pink shoes..maybe I would have mine in a different style and the BM in another style

you can also choose a different shade of pink for your shoes and another shade of pink for your BM's

My BMS are wearing short black dresses with hot pink sashes and the BMs and myself will all be wearing hot pink shoes!

My colors are Navy and Fuschia, and I am wearing Fuschia shoes. I think that it would look great to have all of you in pink shoes, and especially if the girls' dresses are going to be plain. My girls are wearing a navy blue dress with a fuschia sash at the waist with silver shoes.

It is YOUR wedding, if you like it, GO FOR IT! :-D

My colors are black, red, and silver. My girls will be wearing black dresses, and we're ALL wearing red heels. I found a picture of this actually after I'd already chosen my wedding colors, which made me decide to wear red heels too. Everyone looked great together!
