Flower girl dress color..

So my wedding isn't what you would call organized.. LOL. My original colors were white and red, but I fell in love with an ivory dress that was on clearance for $300. So now I have an ivory dress and my bridesmaids will be in red. Should my flower girl be in red, ivory, or white?
I already got her a basket that is silky white..

I'm just not sure how I feel about a red dress with an all white basket, and a white dress would be fine.. but would it be weird that I am the only one not matching in ivory? haha.. My mind worries about the smallest things.

Re: Flower girl dress color..

  • I'm a big fan of flower girls in patterned or floral dresses, so if it were me, I would find something like that.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

Totally up to you! We're having a winter wedding and I couldn't find any white flower girl dresses that I liked with sleeves (either short or long), so I just went with navy blue holiday dresses (bridesmaids are wearing navy blue) and I think it'll look great!
  • She could wear whatever color you want.  Mine wore the opposite of the BM's dress- a pink dress with a green sash, while the BMs for green dresses with pink sashes.

  • Which ever you like :)
  • Have a red dress with a white sash or a white dress with a red sash do they match the baskets your purchased.

Your dress doesn't have to match theirs. Are you changing your entire decor to ivory? I think it would still look nice

ivory dresses look white in pictures.
  • Agree with everyone else.. my flower girls will not be wearing the same color as the bridesmaids.. they are wearing colors that will compliment them.

In fact, ivory and white are very similar. If you don't put these two colors together to compare, you can hardly tell the difference. So I don't think changing to an ivory wedding dress makes much difference, it would still look nice. You can keep your flower girl dresses in red and add a white or ivory sash. Or if you haven't bought the flower girl dresses, you also can choose flower girl dresses in ivory and red like the following styles

I believe the 2nd one is Alfred Angelo but it appears as though it has been discontinued because many of there dream in color dresses were also discontinued last month.  They have similar 2 tone dresses on their website.
