how did you choose the color of your veil?

I've spoken with a few brides who were advised to wear an ivory veil with their white gown.

Can anyone explain the rationale to an ivory veil with a white dress?

Also, if you're worn this combo, or seen it elsewhere, did it look right?

Thanks, ladies!

[QUOTE]I did an ivory dress with a white veil.  My cousin lent me hers. I think it all comes down to personal preference and how picky you are. I didn't really care if it "matched" or not.

<div>I agree with this. My dress is ivory, my chapel veil ivory, and my blusher white. You can't tell a difference. Plus, I don't particularly care all that much. I liked the veil so I bought it.</div>
  • My dress was also ivory (and champagne) and I did a white veil.  It was a drop veil which is really sheer so you couldn't tell any color difference.

  • My dress is ivory, so I went with an ivory short veil. I wanted a lace veil, but my dress it lace and it was just too much. I opted for a short plain veil.
  • Like PPs said, it's usually pretty tough to tell the difference.

I say find a veil you love and wear it and don't worry too much about matching.
  • My dress is ivory and veil is white as well.

It honestly didn't even occur to me that they should match.  No one will notice, so i just got the veil i liked.
  • Also having a white veil with an ivory dress. We have chosen to use my mothers veil and attach lace from her wedding dress to thr trim and all of her stuff was white. You really can't tell the difference like PP's have said.
  • I had an ivory veil because my dress was ivory. I almost had a heart attack in the store when I got it, because it looked so yellow against the white sample. But when I got it next to my dress is was fine. I think you're ok mixing the two if your veil is delicate. If you add trim or extra layers you might be able to see the difference, but truly no one will notice unless it's really off.

  • I am borrowing my FSIL's veil, which is ivory, and matches my dress with the color and beading on the edges.
