Mother of the Bride needs help!

My daughter's wedding is at the end of May. She is wearing a lovely ivory strapless full skirted (ball gown style) dress. The wedding party will be in tea length strapless dresses or tuxes (obviously depending on gender) and the reception is semi-formal, cocktail, not black tie. So question is, what is appropriate for MOB - long or short or is either okay? Choosing between a long navy lace with sequins or a short metallic floral?

You can wear either dress. They both sound lovely an appropriate for a May wedding. As it is not a black-tie a long dress is not necessary, and short is perfectly acceptable. You should wear which one you like best.

Which dress do you love the most?  That is the dress you should wear.  Both sound appropriate for the formality level of the wedding so you just need to pick which one you feel most comfortable and beautiful in.

Definitely pick your favorite in this case. My wedding is "cocktail attire" but my mom is wearing a full length gown just because she wants to! I don't mind at all, as I know she feels most beautiful in a full length gown.
