about the guys tuxes / suits...

i don't know much about these things and never really paid attention before but maybe some of you ladies have :)

the 4 groomsmen will rent tuxes and match each other and they will have vests/ties that match the bms

I've seen that the groom can wear a different color vest ... can he wear a different style tux?  would anyone even notice if the guys have one button jackets and he has 2 buttons?

also, would anyone notice if one dad was in a tux and one was in a suit?  as long as they're both black?

the tuxes look just like suits to me (they're not the long jackets or anything) and they're all doing ties not bow ties.

i'm amazed how much the guys are worried about matching each other!  my dad is totally stressing the groom's dad will look "fancier" than him if he only wears a suit and his dad's in a tux!

thanks :)

Re: about the guys tuxes / suits...

  • Tuxs have the satin piping and lined collar, there are distinct differences between the two.

Dad's aren't part of the wedding party, they can wear what they want. But yes, a tux is more formal than a suit, you might want to see if your dad wants to wear a tux as well.
  • The groom should look different from the other guys some how.  My FI is wearing a long tie while the other guys wear bow ties.  My dad is in a similar tux but is all black and white instead of matching in with the colors.  Dads can wear whatever they want; normally the bride's father would be more formal than the groom's simply because he walks down the aisle while the groom's dad does not but it would not matter either way.
