Wedding dress shoping

I'm getting married in May 2014, and want to start gathering dress options.  Here's what I'm looking for:

-- Short
-- Off-white/cream/ivory/champagne -- not bright white
-- Under $500
-- Not strapless

I've looked at the David's Bridal and Alfred Angelo websites, and didn't find anything that jumped out at me.

Where else can I look?

Thanks!

Re: Wedding dress shoping

  • I would make an appointment at one of those stores even though you didn't see anything on the website. The dress I ended up in caught my eye while I was in the store. It is totally different from what I was looking for and I never noticed it at all on the website.

You might also check department stores or look at bridesmaid dresses.

  • Also check out bridesmaid dresses. Most of them come in white, are suitably formal, are short, and are reasonably priced.

  • I would suggest actually going and trying them on. The dress I chose looks WAYYYY different actually on me than in the pitcure.

  • Thanks, everyone.  If you think of any other ideas, let me know.
