Okay, I have an interesting proposition. I have been calling shops in my state looking for a particular gown. I found a shop an hour away, and the owner is only now beginning to sell this particular designer. She told me that she "has" to order 12 gowns twice a year from them, as samples - and that it's possible she'd be interested in "working out a deal" with me on the gown I'm wanting.
She says that if I want to order it from her, then she'll count it as one of the 12...and consequently I'd get a great deal. I'm sure she'd inflate the cost a bit to profit...and now I'm left wondering...HOW MUCH do bridal shop/boutique owners pay for these gowns they use as samples??? Does anyone have any idea???
If I do this...I want to get a great deal (of course)!
As far as trying on the gown first- I haven't. I did tell her that I wasn't comfortable purchasing a gown without trying it on (duh) and she suggests I find the dress elsewhere to try on. Hmmmmmm.....
judge the non-traditional, pop their happy little wedding balloons... and sleep better tonight for you have made the world a better place.
