Taking a dress in...

So, I found a dress that I am in love with, but its $1100 at the salon.  I found one used thru oncewed.com for $500.  Problem is, its a size 18 and I am currently a size 14 but getting close to a 12.  Do you think this is something that could be taken in that much?  Side note, I have 3 months till my wedding in Vegas so I don't have time to order.

Here's the dress....

Re: Taking a dress in...

  • Would it be better to buy one that is a size two small?  Sorry not trying to be difficult, but before I drop even $1 on a dress (new or used) I want to make sure it can be altered.  I have a great seamstress who has altered and designed wedding/formal wear for over 25+ years.  Just wanted some opinions...
  • That was my thought.  Thank you!
  • I have a girl close to my house that is selling her gown for $350 but its a size 10...I might see if she will meet me and my seamstress (Tammy) to see it if will work.  Otherwise, I'll by the $500 one because Tammy is 99% sure she can take it in since it's a corset back.  She has done a lot of work on Maggies...

  • At the store where I got my dress their seamstress said they could take a dress in 4 sizes, but maybe that was just my dress.
