fell in love with a Jorge Manuel dress.it is THE dress. Way over my budget.

Hi there! I'm in Orange County CA,
went to a shop, The White Dress, in corona del mar today. Fell in love with a 3,500 Jorge Manuel dress named The Phoenix.

I'm in total love with it! I'll be going to look at more dresses in my budget tomorrow, but it will be difficult to choose something else. Someone just gave me the advice not to try on what you can't afford a little too late!

Maybe there's an off chance someone here has a size 12  Phoenix by Jorge Manuel lying around???

Laughing
pretty please with cherry on top?
love,
Jules

  • Make sure when you go in to look, your consultant knows your budget, and that you dont want to spend anymore than that.  Just don't even look at dresses out of your price range.  Ask the price before even trying it on!

Thank you for the websites, I'll check those. I've been doing quite a few searches for used dresses, I'm not sure about buying without trying on though.

And yes, I will let my consultants know my budget! I'm not even sure what my budget is yet, I think it's going to be around 1200.

    I've found this place

in LA, so far no Jorge Manuel there, but you never know. Got to put it out there, are you guys looking for dresses too?
  • I have already found my dress and have it hanging at my aunts house.

You don't have to give them an exact amount, just a very clear idea of what you are looking to spend.  Obviously if you know you cant afford anything over $2,000 you won't want to look at them.
  • That's a pretty dress but I think you could get something similar for a lot cheaper. Jasmine F304 is similar and the single strap could be removed: http://www.theknot.com/wedding-dress/jasmine-collection/f304?src=res

There's also this Monique Lhuillier Bliss gown (which is a less expensive line and should still be less than the one you were looking at!) -1&src=res" rel="nofollow">http://www.theknot.com/wedding-dress/bliss-by-monique-lhuillier/bl0916?ctx=13:15:-1:-1&src=res

  • It is a nice dress, but I'm sure you can find something similar in style, but less in price. The fabric looks stiff in the photo for some reason. Lots of options here

Thanks for the info, going to check these dresses out. :)

The fabric is kind of stiff in the Phoenix dress, It's kind of thick, the material is a silk, there's no boning, yet the spots where he put the ribbing and stuff holds my figure in such a way, I look way smaller than I actually am. It was amazing really, huggs the right spots.

    Went to Davids Bridaal today...Yuck!
    wasn't impressed.

    Going to Mon Amie tomorrrow
