Opinions / Experiences with this site?

Anyone have anything to say about preownedweddingdresses.com? I found -the- dress- but I'm nervous about whether or not this site is legit? I heard someone say in another post that no one responded to their emails... anyone else have this problem? I noticed that they don't have any phone numbers to call... So I emailed the shop that has my dress. *fingers crossed* Anyone actually buy a dress from here?

  • Do the sellers sell to the site, who then sells to you? Or is it like Amazon Marketplace, where the site might allow you to list an item, but you are really dealing directly with the seller. If the latter (which I believe it is), I would imagine people have pretty varied experiences that would not be telling of what your experience might be.
  • As far as I know, it's kind of like Craigslist or Ebay. There's a certain amout of risk in buying a dress you've never seen in person. The best idea is to ask specifically for a picture of the dress with today newspapers, so you know they have it. But, so far, I know plenty of people on here have had great experiences.

Have you tried the dress on at a salon first? That's the best place to start.

This.  It definitely is a recommended site for buying preowned wedding dresses.

But like Msuprincess said, I would make sure to try on the dress that you like in a store first to make sure it really is something that you love.

  • I recently emailed a seller on that site and she got back to me 2 days later.  I would make sure you communicate with the seller first and make sure she's real and also ask her if she has the original receipt that she can send you a picture of.
  • I have already tried on the dress in person and fell in love, so that isn't a problem. :)

I've sent an amail to the seller, giving them my phone number and telling them that I have serious interest in the dress, and that I would like them to get back to me with information about it and their shop. I asked for more pictures too- there are pictures of it on a manikin as well as the typical model picture, so I'm waiting to see if they get back to me.

Most likely this dress will not be coming from an actual bridal shop but from a person who bought the dress and either wore it for their wedding or decided to go a different route and didn't wear it at all.

</div><div>On the ad it says that it is a 'sample' dress for their salon. So I would assume it hasn't been worn, but even if it has, I'm fine with that. :) I'm just happy to find the dress for less than I was expecting to pay, but not so much less that I think it's a fake, like you see a lot online. </div><div>
</div><div>The lady who owns the salon did get back to me (finally!) and said that the dress is still available- I'm super stoked. :)
