all shapes and sizes

Help!  I will be marrying the long-lost love of my life this Fall.  After being apart for 20 years, we have 8 kids between us - my 5 and his 3 from 15 years old down to 3 nine year olds.  So, there is our wedding party!  All of that is fine, except for dressing the 2 older girls.  His 14 year old his rather large with a HUGE bustline and my 14 year old is maybe a size 0 bean pole.  What style of dress or top/skirt combo can I come up with that will accommodate the huge range in body size and shape?  Their outfits don't neccessarily have to match, just compliment each other.  I'm built like my daughter, so I'm not even sure what kind of neckline would look best on my future step-daughter.  The other 3 girls (ages 10 and twin 9 year olds) can wear whatever will coordinate with their sisters.  It's a semi-formal, evening wedding in November.  Thanks!

Re: all shapes and sizes

  • David Bridal's has a large range of outfits in whichever color or colors you want - they are designed to flatter any shape or size.

    Hope that helps!

  • You might want to just determine some guidelines and take the 14 year olds shopping.  Alfred Angelo carries a huge range of sizes with children's, juniors', misses and womens sizes.  If you said, say, purple knee length satin dresses, you could find coordinating dresses with different dresses for all of the girls.
  • Your best bet would be to take them shopping and for them to try on a bunch of different styles. I would definitely say that they do not have to wear the same thing. Alfred Angelo and David's bridal have a pretty large variety of styles and I know AA has a separates BM collections that could work for picking out coordinating but non-matching attire.

  • I'd also suggest David's Bridal- plenty of styles to choose from, so once you pick a color, you can find something that looks nice on everyone, and it won't break the bank!

If you dont really care what style they will be wearing you could just tell them the dress has to be a certain color and let them pick out what they want to wear and what they will feel comfortable in. That way they will be the same color and everyone will be happy.
