Opinion on dresses

Hi everyone!

I am not exactly a traditional bride and don't really want a tradtional wedding dress. I was thinking of somthing a little more red carpet/evening gown inspired. Whate are your opinions on these possible dresses.

http://www.estellesdressydresses.com/detail.php?ProdId=5381643&CatId=59262&resPos=33#subtitle (This one isn't white I know but I absolutley love the detail. Silver is close to white I guess.)

http://www.estellesdressydresses.com/detail.php?ProdId=5381666&CatId=59262&resPos=19#subtitle (This one comes in ivory which is nice. I kinda wanted something that would show off my amazing heels I bought and like the leg in this, but is it too inappropriate? I've seen some Maggie Sottero gowns with slits)

http://www.estellesdressydresses.com/detail.php?ProdId=5381503&CatId=59261&resPos=37#subtitle (I think this would be my dress if it came in white. Peach is a little too non traditional for even me. Anyone know how to get this replicated in white)

Thanks for your opinions!

Do you have a theme? Are you leaning toward a formal wedding or more laid-back?

I've noticed a lot of silver wedding gowns lately. I'm rather intrigued by them. :)

<div>Actually it is a destination wedding in my fiance's home country of Trinidad and inspired by the carnival festival. There is a lot of beading and feather work in the costumes and I wanted to incorporate it into the gown. I want the atmosphere to be laidback and fun but maybe a bit glamorous. I am interpreting the them in a beaded bling sort of way and working feathers for texture into the floral arrangements and using crystal beaded vases and votives and such. </div>

</div><div>Oh and the color scheme is white, silver, and purple with accents of aqua.</div>
  • Then I like the second one best.

  • I like the second one too... or this is similar and in peony or ivory if you would prefer something in ivory/white... Its glittery and I actually love the silk peony, still pale/close to Ivory but a little different

    http://www.martinaliana.com/#/Collection1213/411

or this one has a similar shape to the last:

    http://www.martinaliana.com/#/Collection1213/413

Or this one, more traditional bride for the ceremony then show off the killer heals for the reception:

    http://www.martinaliana.com/#/collection2011/325

I don't consider myself a traditional bride either, nixed the princess/ballgown style but I still wanted ivory an to feel like a bride... There are plenty of glam 'wedding' gowns if you still want something not too out there
  • I love the first one. The gray/silver on it is to DIE FOR! So gorgeous :)

  • Have you tried any of them on?  Sometimes what you think you would like you end up hating when it's on (and vice versa!).
  • I love the first one and the GL 1405.  Both are awesome.  I love the detail of the bodice on the first one and there is something so captivating also in the GL1405.  Both of these to me are still bridal but stand out from the boring sea of white blah.

I think the others on your list are nice as well, but in my opinion the 2 I list above have that special wow factor that combine all your elements. If I were picking between the 2 it would be hard, I may end up going for the 1405 because somehow it's more bridal with a kick. I think in either of those 2 you will get some head turns!  Good luck!

<div>I am going to go try them on next weekend, but was maybe going to eliminate some of them if a lot people hated specific ones. </div>
  • I LOVE the first one!

  • This first one is absolutely beautiful... different in a good way but not over-the-top.  My second choice would be the second picture

  • I love the first two!  For totally different reasons though.

I think the second one is surprisingly different -- like unique without trying too hard.  I think it is my overall favorite.

  • Thanks for all the feedback ladies. I think I just added one more dress to my try on list http://tonybowls.com/collection/red-carpet-dresses/212c86/ Either way I think I found my gown designers. Every dress I love seems to be from Tony Bowls and Terani.
  • Based on your described wedding destination and theme, I think the first dress is the one. It's absolutely gorgeous! A show stopper for sure!
