I could use some help with the Groomsmen attire....

My finance and I are getting married in January.. I am needing some help with what to put the guys in.. My soon to be husband is in the Navy and we are going to have him in one of his uniforms for the ceremony.. He has a very dark navy blue uniform and a white uniform.. I was thinking about having him wear his navy blue uniform but I am nervous on what color tuxes or suits that I should put the groomsmen in.. Please I could use some advice.. Thanks ladies

  • I think gray would look really nice.

  • I agree. I think if you put the guys in charcoal gray (or even a medium gray) it would look really put together. As long as it doesn't clash with your other colors.

Definately suites for the groomsmen instead of tuxes and I agree a charcoal will look nice, but you could also go with a navy if it matches well. Black may look out of place with either a white or navy uniform.

One of my friends married a man in the Navy.  He wore his dress blues (in August, God bless the man).  The groomsmen wore black suits and there were no contrast issues in photos.

ETA: What are your other colors?

  • Ditto Retread - military uniforms are as neutral as a tuxedo, and they go with anything.
  • Thanks ladies.. I appreciate the comments.. They have definetly helped alot.. We are doing some kind of red, white, and blue theme.. I was just worried about the blues not looking right with the groomsmen in black.. I will definetly look into the black suits..
