I am having a "vintage" wedding, and am wearing an ivory dress with a faux fur ivory jacket, the bridesmaids are wearing black dresses with ivory shrugs. My groom and his GM are opting for the full dress tails with a white waistcoat, bowtie and shirt, black pants and jacket. This is the ultimate in a formal look, and Men's Wearhouse does not have any other option other than white. So, my question is this, Is it okay to sub a different cut vest (ivory) with an ivory shirt and bowtie, or is it going to look to ridiculous with the tails, because the vest will hang down lower and not cover like the waistcoat will? Should I just go with the white and hope people don't think it is a mismatch, but more of a tradition of the tux? I have about a week to make a decision, and it has been bothering me for a while.
