Panty Hose or No Panty Hose, tis is the Question

I am getting married in a week and getting all the last minute essentials I need this weekend. I have open toed shoes and plan on getting my toes in a french tip. Should I get pantyhose or not? I never usually wear them unless it's a fancy occasion, but I always think they don't show the toes well on shoes.

Re: Panty Hose or No Panty Hose, tis is the Question

  • Never wear panty hose with open toed shoes; it completly defeats the purpose. I'd also rethink the french tip on the toes. Toe nails are never supposed to be long enough for them to have a white tip, natural or painted on!

I agree with this. I know a lot of people do french tips on toes... but, I think they look ridiculous.  Go with a natural color or even a bold color with no pantyhose.  Pantyhose are only appropriate when wearing closed toe AND heeled shoes. If you are wearing open toes or slingbacks, don't ever wear hose.
  • Unless you're used to wearing pantyhose, don't, especially somewhere over 70.  They're not the most comfortable things.  Some semi-upscale brands (e.g., sold at Macys, not Target, not Bloomingdales) have hose that end at the toes.  Assuming you're in a long dress, the hose won't show.

  • No Panty Hose.  I like the french pedicure look.
    Anniversary
  • No hose....remember you will be hopefully dancing all night & should probably eliminate anything that would make you uncomfortable. To each their own on the french pedi. IMHO I think an all-over color is classier than a french pedi.

  • No hose!  Hose with open toed shoes is just a no. Ever.

I agree that french pedis aren't the classiest look, but to each their own.
  • The only time I wear nylons anymore is if I'm in a business suit or it is cold outside and I'm wearing a heavier skirt.

  • Good, I am normal then for not wanting to wear panty hose. I also ended up going with a pink color on my toes.  Thanks for all the assistance!
